This is so obvious that you would think we would all recognize its inevitability:

Read Dinocrat's brief post and ask yourself: Could al Qaeda be strategically smart enough to avoid what he suggests? Al Qaeda could do nothing and as a result they would continue to completely foul up our airline security and disrupt the entire industry; they would continue to erode what little confidence we have in our "leaders"; and they would continue to cost us an inordinate amount of time and money with a near infinite ROI*. Alternatively, maybe they will just have to try the obvious next step because "its their nature."
*At the cost of essentially nothing but an occasional threat posted on line, they get us to expend billions of dollars to maintain an illusion of safety; by doing nothing their Return on Investment is nearly infinite.
