The Obama administration is doing its best to show us that the Healthcare bill will be good for all now that it is passed and we have the opportunity to find out what's in it. In fact, they are speeding up the roll out of its features:
Accelerated schedule for ObamaCare implementation not fooling anyone
After watching popular revulsion over ObamaCare rise over the last several months, the Obama administration strategized that an accelerated roll-out of its provisions would increase its popularity. Over the last few weeks, the White House has pushed hard to advance its public relations by celebrating each early implementation, but a new survey shows that it hasn’t helped at all.
Read the post and look at the numbers. It is not pretty.
Coincidentally, today a very sick patient came to see me in a state of acute anxiety. She is Disabled (for Psychiatric reasons) and has private insurance which has payed for some very expensive medication which has controlled her debilitating symptoms for the last two years. She was just notified that under provisions of Obamacare her co-pay for one of her medicines is going from $30 a month to $90 a month. She has very little money and cannot afford this. At the same time she is not destitute and has too many assets to qualify for the Patient Assistance Program from the Pharmaceutical Company. As a result she will have to stop her very effective, but newer and expensive, medicine and take high doses of an older, cheaper medicine which has known dangerous side effects.
She was once sympathetic to Obamacare, but now is disillusioned. I hope she does not become acutely ill because of this change in Rx.
