Every week the Watcher's Council selects the best posts from Council members and the best posts chosen by Council members they have read during the week.
The winning Council post was Immigration Protests By High School Students at Rhymes With Right which describes how a real teacher can turn a difficult issue into a "teachable moment." Second place was a tie between Aztlan and al-Andalus: Return to a Mythical Golden Age at Gates of Vienna which pointed out that cultures that look toward an idyllic past are giving up the future and DREAMS AND MYTHS: HOLLYWOOD AND 9/11 at RightWing NutHouse which wonders if Hollywood will now begin to help us look ahead by turning their eye on the recent past.
Among the Non-Council posts, Vanderleun's On the Return of History at American Digest nearly won by acclimation and should be read slowly and carefully so as to fully digest its meaning. In second place was Creating the Online Infidel Library by Wolfgang Bruno which posits that the Internet is the ideal medium in which to launch an ideological counter-offensive against radical Islam.
As always, a complete listing can be found at The Watcher of Weasels and all the posts are worth your time and effort.
