The winning Council post this week was Our George, by Callimachus at Done With Mirrors. It is so easy these days to forget just how fortunate we are to have had some great men involved at the founding of our nation; Callimachus offers an antidote to such forgetting. In second place was a tie between The Breach, in which New Sisyphus decries the direction the war has been heading (and helpfully points out that when you conduct a war as if its a popularity contest, you tend to do poorly) and my post on The Information War, which could be a companion piece to that of NS's.
Among the non-Council posts, the winner was The Beginning of the Universe, by Michael Totten, who if he keeps posting like this will need his own category on the Watcher's list; his posts have been exceptional and need to be read. While you are there, make sure you read his post from yesterday, “The Head of the Snake” and the next time some fool tells you that we should never have gone into Iraq ("Bush Lied!!!"), well, use your own judgment on that. In second place was a very helpful piece, S,C&A Address The Grads Of Stupid University On Iraq, in which Sigmund, Carl and Alfred offers, free of charge, a highly educational post for the thinking-impaired.
As always, all the nominees are available at The Watcher of Weasels, and all are well worth your time and effort.
