The Council Has Spoken:
The winning Council Post this week was by Freedom Fighter at Joshua Pundit. In his post Genocide? What Genocide? he marvels at the ability of murderers and their enablers to find ways to blame others for the evil they countenance. Worse, the rest of the world seems to have no problem with the co-mingling of Jihad and Genocide that he writes about. In second place was THE ART AND ARTIFICE OF WAR REPORTING by Rick Moran at Right Wing Nut House. He offers a brief history lesson for our history challenged media; unfortunately, the ones who need to read this probably won't and those who forget the past ...
The winning non-Council Post was at by Curt at Flopping Aces. He had two posts nominated and the Watcher did not take my suggestion that they should be considered one extended post; nonetheless, his work was so exceptional that the post Getting The News From The Enemy won handily. His other nominated post, Getting The News From The Enemy, Update, tied for third place. In both posts, Curt exposed the rather shoddy work of the AP and raised rather serious questions about the quality of the information our MSM is offering us. Patterico's expose of the LA Times most recent failure, Is the L.A. Times Repeating Enemy Propaganda? Or Is There Another Reason The Paper Is Getting Basic Facts Wrong and Failing to Report the Military’s Side? came in second. Although one commenter last week suggested I stop writing about our MSM's failures to supply us with reliable news, the fact is that when your perceptions are distorted (and the news media represents our perceptual apparatus for all non-local news) your conclusions are likely to be incorrect and distorted.
As always, the full slate of nominees can be found at the Watcher of Weasels and all the posts will reward your time and effort.
There is also an opening on the Watcher's Council so if you are a blogger and are interested in taking part in this exercise (which is a fair amount of work but highly rewarding), go to the Watcher's place for further information.
